A NEW SOUL RISES An exciting Development Since Justin's death I haven't really had too much to say on the internet. Facebook, Twittering, and Blogging all seemed so superficial that I couldn't bring myself to get excited about writing.
However, I've pulled myself together, healing has begun, and Megan and I have the privilege of announcing that we are currently at work on a baby. In truth, as most of you already understand, Megan is the one doing most of the work, but still, I help.
Exactly one week before Justin died, Megan and I found out we were going to have a baby. Of course, we wanted to keep everything under wraps for a while until the baby was further along, but with the passing of the first trimester we have decided to let the word trickle out. The picture above clearly shows the fact - now for the whole world to see - that we are about to be the proud parents of a baby kangaroo.
Please join me in praising God's grace in giving us such an interesting animal to bring into our home.
We don't know yet if the creature will be a boy or a girl kangaroo (kangaroos are hard to tell apart anyway) but I will be sure to write more about this subject when we get the news.
I find it funny how my last two blog posts set up this one. First I was struggling with the need to get busy living or get busy dying. Then we found out we were going to have a child... Then we found out Justin had died... Sometimes the Lord has a strange way of answering our prayers.
In any case I am keeping busy, Megan is getting close to the end of busy season, and we are beginning to realize that without being 'delivered' from our current state both Megan and I will be stuck with a very tragic set of circumstances. Although it is clear to me that most couples are delivered from their internally-gestating-child-situation, it's still crazy to see happening and so I think I will be continuing to drink through Lent (picking up the spare drinks from Megan) in order to deal with this shock! jk
I am, in fact, incredibly excited, and trust that parenthood will be an incredible blessing. Hope you are all doing well - any Fathering advice gratefully accepted. Posted February 26, 2010
Posted by: Auntie Bethie Congrats on the coming arrival. A kangaroo is definitely a first in this family. Posted 2010-02-26 14:04:10
Posted by: Auntie Bethie again I should add that when I was pregnant with Robbie, his 4-year-old cousin Matt asked, "When will you know if it's a human or an animal?" Good question, that. Posted 2010-02-26 14:06:09
